Paul Haydon

Company Co-Owner & Director

Paul brings more than 40 years of practical engineering and surveying experience to the business.
After studying at Queen’s College Cambridge and Hatfield Polytechnic, Paul began his professional career in 1978, spending seven years working in Saudi Arabia as a Site Engineer.
Paul initially focused on topographical and drainage surveys, before beginning to take Brunel Surveys in new directions by expanding the company's capabilities.
His work has covered a wide range of sites and projects. His practical experience across these challenging environments has remained an important part of Brunel's technical capability.
As a Director and co-owner, Paul remains actively involved in Brunel Surveys, combining decades of practical experience with a detailed understanding of the company's history, clients and technical capabilities.

Peter Albinson

Company Director

Peter’s surveying journey began at NELP back in 1986, and he has worked in the survey industry ever since. His early career involved a strong focus on setting out, working on a freelance basis across major infrastructure, commercial developments, and housing sites. Following a brief period working abroad, Peter returned to the UK to join Brunel Surveys Ltd as a co-owner in 1997.

Over the years, Peter has helped guide the company through an incredible journey of growth. From humble beginnings—starting with just three people working out of a front room—Brunel Surveys Ltd has grown to operate two dedicated offices with a team of over 30 professionals.

Peter takes immense pride in the company's high staff retention, with many team members serving for decades and a few remaining from the earliest days. For Peter, the goal has always been to ensure Brunel Surveys Ltd combines top-tier industry standards with a supportive workplace rooted in family values.

 

Denise Haydon

Partner

For more than 30 dedicated years, Denise has been an integral part of Brunel Surveys, playing a key role in the company's financial and administrative development ensuring the company's long-term growth and evolution.

Denise brought to the company valuable experience gained across the banking, retail and customer service sectors, developing a strong understanding of financial administration, client relationships and the importance of effective organisation and attention to detail.

Throughout her time at Brunel Surveys, Denise held the position of Company Secretary, maintaining rigorous legal compliance, corporate responsibilities and financial management.

Having recently handed over the role of Company Secretary to Louise, Denise has ensured a seamless transition while remaining an integral part of the Brunel Surveys family. She continues to lend her invaluable knowledge of the company's history and wealth of experience to the team, providing expert support in business matters, financial administration and acting as a trusted advisor.

Matt Roberts

Operations Director

Matt joined Brunel Surveys in 2013, bringing with him a background in engineering and leadership from the printing industry. Initially joining to help establish and grow Brunel's underground utilities surveying capability, Matt has since developed a broad understanding of the company's surveying operations and the demands of delivering projects across a wide range of sectors.

As Operations Director, Matt is responsible for the day-to-day management and operational delivery of the business, working closely with clients, survey teams and project partners to ensure projects are planned and delivered safely, efficiently and to the required standards. Matt is also involved in the continued growth and development of Brunel Surveys, with a particular focus on expanding the company's utility, GPR and multidisciplinary surveying capabilities across the UK and beyond. His role combines operational management, client liaison, project planning and the development of new opportunities for the business.

Bringing experience from both outside and within the family business, Matt has a strong focus on developing people, improving processes and ensuring Brunel continues to evolve alongside the surveying industry while maintaining the values and standards on which the company was established.

Peter Worthington

Technical Director

Peter joined Brunel Surveys in 2004 and soon after completed the TSA course passing with a Distinction. Since then, he has worked across most of the UK carrying out various types of surveys. Peter provides expert guidance across surveying methodologies, quality assurance, and emerging technologies. His extensive technical knowledge ensures clients receive accurate, reliable survey data and innovative surveying solutions.

Louise Roberts

Finance Manager/Company Secretary

Louise joined the family business in 2014 to develop her career, building on the valuable experience she had gained within the hospitality industry. Her previous roles provided her with a strong foundation in customer service, financial administration and management, giving her a broad range of transferable skills that she has continued to develop throughout her time at Brunel Surveys.

Today, Louise oversees the company’s financial management, legal compliance and Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (HSEQ) systems, ensuring that these key areas are effectively managed and maintained to a high standard.

Louise plays an important role in the company’s continued development. Her combination of financial and managerial experience allows her to contribute to both the day-to-day running of the business and its longer-term objectives, helping Brunel Surveys maintain its professional standards while continuing to grow and evolve.

Jess Whittaker

Business Support Admin

Jess joined Brunel Surveys in September 2026 and is filling a new role within the company. As business support, Jess monitors the admin and social media, as well as supporting with Health and Safety RAMS, the website, and some photography work. Jess has a strong background in admin support and is bringing all her skills to the role.
